Successful Online Semester

5 Tools For a Successful Online Semester

In Student Mingle by Kyah Welton

Back to school, this time of year looks very different for some of us but for those who are staying home, it can be very hard to find the perfect materials to help you study and a good place to do work. These are the best study tools to help you achieve a successful online semester despite the circumstances.

5 of the best study tools for a successful online semester

  1. Bed Desk– Many people do not have the proper space in their room to have a desk and usually just do their work with their computer on their lap. The bed desk gives more comfort to those who hate crouching down to their laptops and provides that extra space for additional supplies.
  2. Back Pillow– This pillow has been on trend for many dorm bedding but the initial purpose is to support your neck and back. Crouching down for many students can be very uncomfortable and causes many different forms of back and neck pain, however, this pillow can give you all the support you need while completing an assignment.
  3. Headphones– Whether you’re sporting the wire or wireless, headphones are a complete necessity when it comes to studying. A lot of spaces within the household can be extremely noisy and headphones can alleviate a lot of that noise, making it very easy to listen to your professors’ lectures and music to get the essays done.
  4. Laptop- In the 21st century everything is computerized and everyday life is almost dependent on technology. In college, especially if you are staying home, you would need a computer or tablet to complete your work and watch the lectures over zoom.
  5. Open Mind- This year has been a very overwhelming one with a large amount of changes and a shift from the “normal”. While many would prefer to have in-person classes and the overall full college experience, that isn’t the circumstance. Online classes can seem not very ideal to many and an inconvenience but it would be refreshing to have an open mind for this semester. Thinking positively regardless of the circumstances can help this upcoming semester to be a positive one!

Hopefully everyone has a successful online semester and these tools come in handy! For more, sign up now for a Student Mingle profile.
