As fashion business professionals and owners it’s a difficult time. What will the economic impact of the coronavirus be? What can I even do about it? It’s easy to get overwhelmed and do nothing. We’re here to help you get through this! We created Mingle Mastermind with 8 fashion industry professionals who share their advice on how businesses can weather this storm and come out stronger than ever before.

Here are some of the best tips and tricks that our seasoned industry panelists gave to help you and your business during this pandemic.

Introducing Mingle Mastermind – A Weekly Webinar for Fashion Industry Professionals

Dale Noelle, founder and CEO of TRUE Model Management advises you to take this time to learn more about your customers and clients and come up with new ways to work together. “When this is over and you’re back in the office, you’ll be prepared and have everything ready for them (like contracts for new projects).”

Dee Rivera, CEO of DCG Media Group, says she is encouraging her clients to find new ways to engage with their customers. “There’s different things you can do to engage people because everyone is online! Everyone is streaming! You might not get the business now, but you will get it later.”

Lori Riviere, the owner of The Riviere Agency which specializes in Influencer management and producing NYFW shows, is aware not everyone is used to working remotely. She jokingly says, “when I’m making my bed, I’m actually making my desk!” However, she wants everyone to know “that if you’re just taking a moment to think about what you want to do, that’s okay. My best recommendation for everyone is to be realistic.”

Catherine Schuller, like most people, has had to put some of her business plans on hold. However, that is not stopping her from helping out where she can. She is using her connections with designers and seamstresses to get DIY face masks made for healthcare workers through the NYC Facemask Initiative.

Shirin Movahed is a fashion and business lawyer and advises everyone to “take this time to handle everything you’ve ignored like trademarks and branding issues for your company”.  She also emphasizes the importance of putting your health first. “Personal self care is usually put on the backburner, but in order to have a healthy business, you have to be healthy yourself.”

Fashion Mingle CEO, Melissa Shea said “We created this Zoom meeting every Friday with this group of ladies that are our tribe in New York City that we work with all the time to put on events, fashion shows, all kinds of fun things. We are inviting you to become part of this tribe to help you understand what we’re doing to keep our business growing and help you figure out what you can do to keep your business and career on track”.
